I sat the national primary school examination and made it to junior high school with lot of energy and enthusiasm with the dream of being a layer.

I had been dreaming all the days of my primary school life to attend Government secondary School for boys Magburaka. Also know as Magburaka boys secondary School (MSSB) AKA "Oxford of the north". It's a boarding school. I was fortunate to pass with a flying colors and was qualified to be admitted in my dream school. Woooooo...

MSSB was and still one of the grade a schools (Most choosed by boys) in the country with many prominent people who had passed through that beautiful brotherhood including the former president of Sierra Leone H.E Ernest Bai Koroma and many ministers, deputy ministers, commissioners and ambassadors etc.

The school was founded in 1950 by our colonial masters including other government schools across the country. It is in the northern region of the country and I am from the Eastern region.

In academic performance my school is always one of the best and every parent wants to send their kids there from all over the country, some Sierra Leoneans living in USA and Canada England even send their children to come to attend this great school. Amazing right? But it was one of the most reasonable schools in terms of school fees. I think this one is more amazing. High quality, low cost.

A DAY BEFORE THE ADMISSION DAY.

I remembered on one beautiful Sunday morning I was in the farm driving away birds that comes to destroy the rice in the farm. my eldest brother came in a white Jeep (own by a Lebanese miner) from Konta where I did my primary school. He sent for me to come back in the village so we can travel to Magburaka for admission. I have chewed plenty of raw grandnut in that morning as I was not planning any travel.

I went to the stream and took a bathe. We onboarded in the vehicle and took off.

In less than 30 minutes started vomiting due to the smell of the petrol. I committed almost everything I had eaten that morning.

Honestly that was my first long trip ever I did. We travel safely to our destination, we reached there by 6pm and we went straight to a brother of my elder brother's friend, he was called Mr. Dyffan. A very nice and humble gentleman, he was a medical doctor working at the Magburaka government hospital and he also had a pharmacy/drug store at home. We slept and

THE ADMISSION DAY.

We got up very early in the morning to go to the school for the admission.

Mr. Dyffan escorted us to the school and give my brother as all the necessary information about the admission then he left for work.

We were all given numbered tags on first come first serve basis. And then we sat in a roll.

I was among the first 10 candidates to enter the interview room.

But I quickly remembered been told long ago when we were in primary school that when you go for interview and you are called to enter the interview room you should observe the following rules..

1. Knock the door until you are allowed to enter

2. When you enter, say hi to all the interviewers

3. Remain standing after the greetings until you are permitted to sit down.

I entered the interview room with all my eyes wide open, with my legs shaking.

But after remembering all those rules I quickly picked up my confidence and I did follow all the above mentioned rules and it worked perfectly fine for me.

I was asked some few personal questions and then given a text book to read.

They're looking for how fluently and smoothly we read the passage. So I read just one paragraph and few lines then I was asked to stop. That was how I past the interview and I was given a slip to go to another tabe outside, in the corridor to take my school badge, cap, tie, brochure and meal ticket since I was going to stay in the boarding home.

I took all that and then went to the principal's office to complete the admission process. In less than two hours I completed everything and my brother was so proud of me then we went back to Mr. Dyffan in to say goodbye then we return to our village and wait till school reopens.
