Hey 👋 I'm Imre, a PhD student in Computer Science. I've previously made some small contributions to open-source software but I've never made my own before. That is changing currently, see below. See it in action here: https://another-pomodoro.app.
Yes, I've been busy making a Pomodoro timer app of all things. The pandemic blew my daily routine [too], I ended up watching way too many videos instead of spending my time productively. I tried a few online Pomodoro timers but none have really convinced me (especially after seeing price tags here and there). They didn't feel that helpful to me and thus I decided to create my own timer.
I mean, not in the sense of becoming popular (I do dream that it does, though) but in the sense of it getting filled with features. I focused on making it really clean and ended up with something that is starting to look like a really nice, useable piece of web app.
Yes, it is a web app - no install required. Since it is open source (MIT licence), anyone can view the code and contribute to it. It is a statically generated site, which sounds intimidating but in reality it translates to a blazingly fast app that does not collect any data of its users.
Here I'll share some blog posts and announcements, so do follow me if you're interested, or just check out the GitHub repository (second link down there).
