The eternal Jesus brings life, salvation, miracles, and divine dependence to rest in Him. With John, he brings a clear statement of purpose through eyewitness testimonies that can serve to both stimulate new beliefs and substantiate existing ones. The accounts of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, which are known as the Synoptic Gospels, all take a biographical (or chronological) approach to Jesus' life.
