Why Art is Important

Through art we are evolving beyond our known realities, we discover new truths and new tools for being. It is through art that we can make life's suffering bearable, we can make sense of our pain. We can find hope. We can use art to understand wonder and atrocities. we could find wonder in Da Vinci's Madonna of the Rocks and we could feel the despair and catastrophe through Picasso's Guernica. Art is an extension of our being. It is stretching our souls, teaching us what human spirit is capable of, in a way that can heal us, that can make us bigger, can make us aware of our own presence in life and perhaps appreciate each breath that we take in this short journey.
