Red & Ruthless

Red & Ruthless

Nov 19, 2020
  • These babies are light, crispy, full of air...sinfully delicious....red & ruthless because they are full of hot pepper and tomato sauce.

    I warned you!

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1 cup of cornmeal

  • 1 cup of oats

  • salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 cup of oil (I use grape seed oil or sunflower seed oil in the dough)

  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce (I used not tomato sauce from a can of mackerel)

  • 1/2 cup flax seeds and sesame seeds

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1 TBSP dry parsley flakes

  • 1 TBSP garlic powder

  • 3 TBSP chilli flakes

  • 1 TBSP cayenne pepper (to taste)

  • 1 cup of love

  • water - as much as you need until the dough works into a non-stick ball

    Bossy Instructions:

  • Let the dough rest for at least an hour.

  • Roll out very thin.

  • Cut into rounds and/or sticks

  • I use sunflower seed oil to fry them in.

(You could bake them in the oven too - I don't have an oven -

honestly they are better fried....they turn out like wanton skins

    full of air and crispy)

  • Fry until as brown as you like them.

(If you are old enough to read this you are old enough to know how to fry them...I don't need to tell you to be careful because the oil is hot)

  • Drain on paper towel.

  • While they are hot I sprinkled salt on them.

  • ......TRY NOT TO EAT THEM IN ONE SITTING.

CRUNCH AWAY!!!!!
