SMLIAG Chapter 79 - Adrian-Stalking

Feb 16, 2024

After seating Enoch next to himself, Rosenta removed the lid of the ointment that the maid had brought.

Then, he asked him a question.

"What did you say to His Majesty that caused him to be so surprised to see me?"

"I showed off the leash you gave me."

Rosenta dropped the lid.

The lid rolled on the floor before spinning like a whirlwind and stopping.

"And I told him that the duke could not abandon me."

Rosenta was flustered for a moment.

Enoch’s words could easily lead one to believe that there was some sort of relationship between them.

Perhaps aware of his confusion, Enoch curved his eyes slightly and smiled in a coquettish manner.

"Don't worry; the emperor will think I'm a crazy dog who is in love with the duke."

Upon saying that, Enoch raised his closed hands.

He gently pawed at Rosenta, as if imitating a puppy.

The action was ridiculous, causing Rosenta to break into a smile. He then carefully pushed Enoch's head back.

His neck could now be seen clearly.

"You’re more like a crazy cat."

"If I’m a cat... Meow?"

He shook his head at Enoch's actions, but a wide smile hung on his face.

"Don't move. I'll apply the ointment."

Finally, he began applying the ointment to Enoch's neck.

As he did, he realized something strange.

"Fingerprints?"

He didn’t immediately recognize the overall marks as handprints, but there was a clear finger mark.

‘Don't tell me Theodore...’

He wasn’t someone who would deal with people so carelessly. ‘Why on earth?’

Furthermore, to have left such a mark could only mean that Theodore used a very strong grip.

As he was touching the mark, Enoch spat out,

"No, it's not what you think."

"What?"

‘What's not?’

He pulled his hand back from Enoch's neck and looked down at him.

Enoch quietly chuckled.

"It's not a handprint. It's from the black cloth that was pulled too tight around my neck."

‘You're lying.’

The marks from the black cloth wouldn’t leave behind marks that look like a finger.

Without saying anything, he quietly looked at Enoch with suspicious eyes.

Then Enoch said,

"If I say it’s a handprint, you'll keep thinking about him, trying to figure out why he did it. I don't like that. Just think about me for now."

Then, he curved his eyes and leaned forward.

Enoch's light green eyes approached him. At the same time, he covered Rosenta’s hands with his own.

He took his hand and placed it on his neck.

"Apply it, please."

"…… yes."

What was in front of Rosenta right now was an injured Enoch. Focusing on applying ointment to his neck was what needed to be done in the immediate.

He spread the ointment on very slowly.

But every time he touched his neck, he frowned. For some reason, he felt like his own neck was hurting.

Enoch, who was strangled, didn't make a sound.

‘If you're hurt, use magic...’

Come to think of it, there were various kinds of magic, was there no healing magic?

"Enoch."

"Yes."

"Is there healing magic?"

"Are you hurt somewhere!?"

He was simply asking about healing magic, but Enoch grabbed his wrist.

Enoch then began to examine his body with an intense gaze.

Rosenta was dumbfounded.

"No. I'm asking if there's any way to treat your throat."

"Ah……"

Suddenly, Enoch acted like someone who had been let down after hearing a trivial story.

"I’m sure there is."

Enoch flippantly answered as if he were not interested.

Even as Rosenta said that there was no sign of him trying to use healing magic on himself.

Rosenta continued to speak up.

"Your neck is so injured; even so, you're not thinking of using magic."

"Are you worried about me?"

‘What did I say to make you so happy that you smile with your eyes like that?’

For the first time, Enoch smiled as warmly as a spring breeze. Rosenta was seeing a lot of his 'firsts' frequently these days.

And every time it happened; he couldn't take his eyes off Enoch.

"If you don't like me being injured, I'll fix my throat right away."

Of course, no one likes pain.

So, he answered,

"… yes. I don't like you being injured. It's not good to get used to pain."

Upon hearing his answer, Enoch shyly lowered his eyes.

Enoch's long eyelashes fluttered gently with his movements.

"Yes."

Enoch lifted his head again, and his light green eyes turned towards Rosenta.

The man who looked like a spring breeze before had disappeared. There was only Enoch, smiling like a full wolf.

Enoch licked the corner of his mouth.

Then, with his hand on his neck, he looked at Rosenta and recited an incantation.

"Satanio."

The blue mana wrapped around Enoch's neck.

Not long after, Enoch pulled away his hand as if it was all over.

"I knew it!"

‘Huh? This voice...’

A strange voice came into the room and Rosenta spun his head around in horrified surprise.

Then he saw him.

"I was right! The wolf was the duke’s man!"

It was Lysander, whose existence had been forgotten due to the conversation with Enoch.

While Rosenta was flustered, Lysander quickly ran past him as though only one person was visible.

That person was Enoch.

But there was no way Enoch could be caught by Lysander.

Enoch, whose facial expressions had disappeared before, violently grabbed Lysander's head.

He then slammed Lysander's face onto the sofa.

There was no hesitation in his actions.

"I guess you've lost your mind after being beaten so badly. You even peeked like a thief."

He acted as if he was going to kill Lysander at any moment.

But Rosenta couldn't let that happen. Even if he didn't like it, he was Vivian's brother.

"No. Enoch, don't do it."

Enoch wouldn't let go of his hair, even after he said that.

Rosenta said it again.

"Stop."

"… … Tsk."

Enoch clicked his tongue and took his hand off the back of Lysander's head.

Then Lysander hurriedly lifted his head and exhaled wildly.

"Oh my gosh."

It must have been fine since his life was saved. He didn’t even think about running away.

Enoch would notice right away.

After glancing at Lysander, who was barely breathing, he took his eyes off him.

He then asked Enoch a question.

"Did you know that he was watching you?"

Enoch had said ‘You even peeked like a thief.’ Perhaps Enoch knew he was spying.

Rosenta’s irritation soared for a moment, and he pushed back his bangs nervously.

But Enoch simply shrugged his shoulders, as if it were a matter of course.

"I’d cast a silencing spell as soon as the duke entered the room, but someone was eavesdropping through it, so I had no choice but to know."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I didn't want my time with the duke to be interrupted."

"Sigh."

Rosenta plopped down on the sofa.

He was stressed out. He quickly covered his face with both hands and just lowered his head.

As though he didn’t know what was wrong, Enoch curiously asked,

"Can’t I just kill him?"

As soon as Rosenta heard that, he quickly shouted at Enoch,

"No!"

"……then can I make it impossible for him to speak or write?"

It was an abstract course of action, Rosenta could tell that there was a cruel meaning hidden in those words.

This time Lysander reacted furiously.

"I will never tell!"

He even raised one hand and took an oath-like stance.

"Ah! Because of the coat you stole from my sister's room, my subordinate is investigating you separately…… I can manipulate the case if you want!"

This was Rosenta’s first time hearing of this.

‘I can’t believe they called a wizard just to investigate a coat...’

‘What's is it about my coat?’

But there seemed to be no need to worry because Lysander had come up with a solution.

Of course, it was a solution based on the assumption that he would return to the Magic Tower.

"If I intervene, it will work out without a problem. I can tell my subordinate a lie and make a false report to my sister."

Lysander knelt.

He then looked at Enoch with a red face and quietly told him everything.

In some ways, he looked like someone confessing their love.

"And the commission regarding the top floor. That's something only I received, so I can sort it all out."

Then he looked up at Enoch as if begging.

"Please, just give me a nail... Oh! If you don’t like that, at least a strand of hair."

‘Nails? Hair?’

No, was Lysander a person who used honorifics towards others and kneeled easily in the first place?

Things were going strangely.

Rosenta had given up.

Now, with his arms folded, he blankly watched Lysander and Enoch.

‘A begging scene?’

Strictly speaking, it seemed more like the scene of Lysander's courtship.

"Then at least your toenails..."

"Knock it off."

"Maybe saliva?"

"...I told you to knock it off."

This was a new sight.

It wasn't common to see Enoch lashing out at others.

Rosenta placed his arms on the back of the sofa and rested his chin on them comfortably. Then he made eye contact with Enoch.

"What's wrong?"

"You two look good together."

Enoch grimaced at his answer.

Lysander, however, was delighted.

He even smiled like a perv while covering his cheeks.

"I can't believe I look good with such a strong person."

When it came to dealing with Vivian, he was a little unhinged, but now he looked properly insane.

"Young Lord, do you like Enoch that much?"

At his question, Lysander's pink eyes became dreamy.

"You killed the Tower Master at such a young age, and you've been evading the eyes of the mages until now. You’re amazing!"

This wasn't love; it was just perversion.

"Strong! He is the epitome of strength, which I've admired since I was young!"

By this point, Rosenta was sure Lysander wasn't acting.

‘He's really crazy about Enoch.’

‘Come to think of it, there was also a section explaining their relationship in the original novel.’

"Lysander sought strength.

So, when Adrian destroyed the tower, he was the first to kiss his feet.

He also did so with a jubilant face.

He even relentlessly killed his fellow wizards, saying he would prove his loyalty.

Yes, Lysander was a follower of Adrian.

Lysander's hobby was to extract magic from Adrian's hair, nails, toenails, etc.

And his specialty was Adrian-Stalking.”
