Hello

Jan 25, 2022

Hello. Yes, the first update post of 2022. I think this image accurately depicts the world we are still having to live in now. It was taken after Midnight Mass last year. I'm sure a lot of you have seen much of my content over the past month, but here are the highlights for me:

  1. Virtual Vespers (first of 2022)

    https://youtu.be/Vbcb7mjnlPI

I'm back into creating these mini services with the magic of a green screen, organ music and organ music contributed by other YouTubers and organist friends. As we approach Lent, I think I may pause these and start something like "Stations of the Cross" and highlight some beautiful Lenten organ music that usually wouldn't be heard in Catholic churches (as the organ is only supposed to support the singing).

  2. In the hour of my distress - Tim Attride (ft. Tony Lee)

When I love a piece of music, I usually get a lot of mileage out of it. This also applied to Tim's setting of You are the peace of all things calm. This Litany to the Holy Spirit will definitely get some mileage too during Mass. Thanks to Tony for the excellent singing.

  3. Money, Money, Money (ABBA)

I may not be able to entertain and improvise like the great Fraser Gartshore, but I had a decent crack at playing some ABBA on a French Romantic organ.

  4. ST CLEMENT (The day thou gavest)

    https://youtu.be/P5kP2ldKgow

I'm currently in love with the ST CLEMENT hymn tune! The hymn and an organ solo setting is on my channel. We also welcome Caleb Smith to the Swell Vox recording sessions. Caleb is in his final year of high school and is a scholarship holder for voice at the Murray Conservatorium in Albury. We all look forward to his involvement in the group this year,

Thanks for your ongoing support! It's with your words of encouragement that inspires me to continue to shape the future of classical and sacred music to the next generation of musicians.
