More concerts and music through to the end of December (can you help?)

Nov 29, 2022

Dear supporters,

As I'm writing this I've already performed two full length concerts back-to-back with Tony Lee who has accompanied me as a vocal soloist. It has been challenging, to say the least, to perform on different organs, different acoustics and different audience "vibes" at each venue. Our programmes have mostly been the same with the exception of a few pieces swapped out to suit the organ or the festive occasion (150th anniversary of St. Patrick's church, for example). I'm including two Hauptwerk performances of key pieces I have played live at the concerts—Mendelssohn's War March of the Priests and Buxtehude's Ciacona in E minor, BuxWV 160. I think it's nice to hear a clean recording in a generous acoustic!

This weekend we head to Yass to perform at Lovat Chapel. It houses this lovely Taylor organ and a small chamber organ (3 ranks). We will be using both at the concert which has been organised by the RSCM ACT branch.

Following Yass I am looking after Lessons and Carols at Corowa which I have done for the last two years. This year we will have an SATB ensemble which is very exciting. The video will be edited and uploaded to my YouTube channel in due course.

As you know, these events come at some considerable expense—not just financially but personal time, family time and plenty of practice/rehearsal time. If you are in a position to help my endeavours, please see the many options via the link here: https://linktr.ee/james_flores
