Standing here on the bridge tonight 

Looking out at the factory lights 

Shining on the river below 

And in the evening when the sun’s low

They flicker for us

Never felt the difference between us

As clear as you show it is

I try to explain the splendor 

Of those lights like embers

But I can’t say how they comfort 

When I can barely make an effort
