Hate The Default Preset On POD Go? Try THIS!

Sep 09, 2022

Have you turned your modelling unit on, flipped to a default preset, and absolutely hated how it sounded and avoid all the associated blocks from then on? You might be missing out! In this video, I share how I tweak the default amp/cab blocks that get loaded on the POD Go: the US Double Nrm and stock cab.

It's based off the Fender Twin Reverb, which is a glorified PA that doesn't gain up when you turn the gain control up; it just gets LOUDER. It also doesn't smoothen the edges of a distorted wave form when the front end gets hit by a pedal. As such, the tweaking philosophy for a Fender Twin is:

  1. All the overdrive sounds come from the pedals in front of it. Use the gain control as a "second master volume".

  2. Use smooth overdrive sounds for a better starting point when it comes to gain sounds. Fuzz pedals end up having a very shrill attack due to that PA-quality. (But that didn't stop Eric Johnson from using a Fuzz Face with his pair of Twins!)

The three presets featured are free updates in my Free Pack! If you've downloaded it before, check your folder link!

And after watching that, how about exploring my other POD Go videos?
