Casey Kelly (34), now entering his sixth season with the LG Twins, has pledged to have a better 2024 season.
He, who is participating in the club’s spring camp at Indian School Park in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, said, “I’m happy to be back. “He is preparing hard for the new season,” he said, expressing confidence in the new season.
He first entered LG in the 2019 season and is already entering his sixth season with the same team. He played 875 2/3 innings in 144 games over the previous five seasons, recording 68 wins, 38 losses, and an ERA of 3.08, while maintaining LG's mound.
When asked whether he thought he would be with the same team for this long when he first signed with LG, he smiled and shook his head and said, “I am so grateful to have been able to be with this team for 6 years. He had a WHIP of 1.242, 0.5 home runs, 2.0 walks, and 6.5 strikeouts per 9 innings. Her 6.5 strikeouts per nine innings was her lowest mark since her debut season in 2019 (6.3), and her WHIP was her highest since 2021.

Starting to use the forkball last season was a huge benefit. “It was difficult because hitters had seen my pitch a lot, and they knew my key ball was a curveball and didn’t swing at it. “I tried to get more strikeouts by throwing a pitch that looked like a fastball but was slightly different to the batter who was looking for a curve.”
Pitcher Kim Jin-seong of the same team was of great help in installing the new weapon. “We talked a lot with Kim Jin-seong. He explained that he received help, saying, “He asked me how to throw and what grip I should use depending on the ball count situation, and tried to find the grip that suited me best.”
