Learning to make webcam frames on Davinci resolve

Mar 25, 2021

So lately the idea of creating all my overlays myself has been taking over. I have spent countless hours watching youtubers like Casey Faris and Patrick Stirling really simply teach the basics. It really feels so good making something of your own!

So this is what the Davinci Resolve fusion page looks like. These nodes are what makes the whole thing. Basically everything you make be it rectangles or what not, connects to the media output node and then gets sent back to the edit page.

Making a webcam frame starts with the background node which basically fills your screen with a color of your choosing. This will be the base color to the webcam frame. After that adding the rectangle node to the base color node will allow us to make the basic shape. Unselecting the solid button and increasing the border width will give you a static webcam frame.

I will be making a tutorial video of the whole simple process soon. Stay tuned.
