My name is Jess Hrycyk (Her-it-zic). I'm an award-winning freelance illustrator based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Ts'elxwéyeqw and Pelólhxw communities of the Stó:lō, (Fraser Valley, BC).

About My Work

The verdant forests of myth, fantasy, and folklore inspire my work. My pen, ink and watercolour illustrations draw upon the rich soils of old-world ornamentation, engraving and medieval calligraphy while exhuming an ancient aesthetic to give new life and meaning to my explorations of nature, as well as, my understanding of undying, existential themes.
