Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm an artist living in Winston-Salem, NC with my husband and our son.

The focus of my work is primarily painting and drawing, with some installation and video projects thrown in on occasion. I'm interested in our experience in the outdoors and specifically in getting more people outside communing with nature. Yes, I really think art has the power to do that! I've seen first-hand how my work has impacted people and changed their perception of nature and the outdoors, and this definitely helps motivate me.

I'm currently working on a new project for a solo exhibit at Sechrest Gallery at High Point University that opens in October 2021: 63 paintings of skies to cover an entire gallery wall from floor to ceiling! (19ft tall x 17ft wide to be exact) I'm raising the funds to cover the cost of paper and paint to complete this project.

Everyone who contributes will be credited in the exhibit and on the project page of my website.

the nitty gritty: The cost of materials (polypropylene paper and acrylic paint) to complete this project is $500. I install the exhibit (this project along with Paper Mountain, Sky Project and other paintings) October 16-22, so I’m setting a deadline to finish these particular paintings by October 8th. I always plan to finish the actual making of work at least 1 week before installation because this leaves me time to do the myriad things that need to be done before a show goes up.
