There's now a UI for YTMusic Deleter!

Feb 16, 2023

Hello past donators!

I have finally finished consuming all the beers you have bought me. In my drunken state, I created a user interface for my YTMusic Deleter app!

"Wow that looks like crap" you might be saying, and you'd be correct! But hey, at least you don't have to fuss with the command-line interface anymore. Simply head over to https://github.com/apastel/ytmusic-deleter/releases and scroll to the Assets section where you'll see the new "YTMusic Deleter.exe" file which will install this nifty graphical version of the app!

Truth be told, I worked on this on-and-off for about a year. My initial plan was to charge 5 bucks for it, but I really don't have the time to polish it up to make it worth paying for. So now it's available for free! Please note you will see a warning from Windows about downloading and running the .exe file. That's because this .exe is 1) not commonly downloaded and 2) not signed using a code-signing certificate (which would cost me money).

It pretty much works the same as the command-line version except you just click buttons instead of typing commands. And when you want to sort your playlists, it automatically brings up a window of all your playlists to choose from (which I've been using as a way to tell what account I'm authenticated as). The authentication process works the same but I think it's a little easier now because you can also browse to an existing headers_auth.json file that would have already been generated for you if you previously used ytmusic-deleter.

Well that's enough blabbing for now because probably not that many people will see this, but check it out if you're interested and let me know if you experience any issues, or just say 'hey' if it's working well. Thanks!

P.S. I don't actually listen to Phil Collins, that was just a test to make the screenshot. But maybe I should? 🤔

Enjoy this post?
