Hi, I'm Joy (jjwalsh) - Thanks for stopping by!

I run fun + insightful (so I've heard) online livestream interviews, virtual walking tours, and Japan culture, art + cooking workshops.

Japan has been home for more than 25 years, and since April 2020 I've focused on running the SeekingSustainabilityLIVE (SSL) talkshow. This SSL series is a weekday talk with innovators, activists, entrepreneurs, and experts from across Japan doing great work.

Fans of the series say it helps them feel more connected, learn about new things, feel inspired and sparks new ideas to pursue in their own lives, work and area.

The talkshow series called #seekingsustainabilitylive is available live almost every weekday at 9am or 5pm Japan time. Viewers say the series is "fun", "well-researched" "inspirational" and even "the best thing about 2020 for me".

SSL Topics: Japanese culture, Tourism + Travel, Sustainable lifestyle + Fashion, Akiya (abandoned) home reuse + reform, Gardening + Organic Farming, Artisans + Craftspeople, Japanese heritage + history, stories + folklore, activism + clean-ups, sustainable innovation, entrepreneurs, future-tech, gender empowerment, diversity + inclusion, community building,  marketing + branding are often themes of the talks.

As a long-time Hiroshima resident who co-founded GetHiroshima.com I also offer guided walking tours and seminars about Hiroshima and Japan. My passion is to point out sustainable solutions which preserve heritage, culture, traditions, and art while preserving nature, without sacrificing essential income.

Sounds impossible? Well, not impossible- there are so many great examples in Japan, so follow me and let's explore the possibilities together!
