I came across the iceland volcano Fagradalshraun livestreams in March 2021 and have been watching ever since. I have enjoyed researching info, reading iceland news updates, observing the development of the eruption, and chatting about it with other viewers.
Fagradalshraun is a more user friendly volcano, in an unpopulated area, with access to visitors. It's been fun hearing from viewers who have visited the volcano, often chatting from the site to report on the eruption.

When the La Palma, Canary islands eruption began in Sept 2021, I started the process all over, as the Iceland volcano had just begun a long pause in it's eruption.
La Palma is different because of the impact in a populated area, including the loss of homes and businesses. People in the immediate area are affected most, while those further away can go about their daily lives relatively uninterrupted.
The response from the government and local authorities was quick, and relief efforts are ongoing at this time. Thankfully there were no injuries, as residents evacuated as needed.
I have met a lot of fun and knowledgeable people on the livestream chats for both volcanoes, as well as fellow moderators, most of whom began as chatters themselves.
