"Answer the questions truthfully and send it to 5 of your closest friends!" We've all received this at one point or another, especially when many of us are spending an inordinate amount of time online over the past year. Please do not fill out these questionnaires!
Why should you not fill it out? Ask yourself a few questions first: When you created your bank account what recovery answers did you use if you forgot your password? What was your first Job? What is your Mother's maiden name? What is your favorite pet's name? The list goes on, but the fact of the matter is these questions that you fill out for the world to see are literally the answers to your account recovery questions.
So if you absolutely must fill these out, at least use bogus answers or responses that you didn't use for your secret account questions. This is a text book strategy of social engineering, except, the cyber criminals aren't lifting a finger...you are doing all the work for them. All they have to do is look at Facebook and they have every answer they need.
Food for thought the next time you see a post asking for these types of answers. Maybe you could even pass the word along and you could save someone else from getting hacked.
