Ando Closing Down

The once-popular banking app, Ando, sent an email to its members that it will be closing down in a few weeks. Ando had a great referral program that ended some months back. 1-2 months ago, Ando sent out an email stating that they'd be charging a monthly $9 fee. This month, they began charging said fee, and when I called to see what my options were, I was told that they would waive the fee if I signed up for one of their insurance products; otherwise, I could cancel my account. I opted for the latter.

I presume the number of cancellations was more than Ando anticipated. And, why wouldn't people cancel? As most referrers know, there are several FREE banking app alternatives.

Here are the key dates if you haven't yet canceled your Ando account:

  • 11/4/22 - Deposits will know longer be accepted into your account (including direct deposits). Accounts will be closed, and all debit card and ACH transactions (purchases, withdrawals, transfers, etc.) will be declined.

  • 11/11/22 - The Ando mobile app will be disabled.

You have until 11/4 to withdraw all your funds, or you will be sent a paper check with your remaining balance, sent to the address Ando has on file for you.

To cancel your account, or if you have any questions, you can reach them at 844-960-3939 or via email at [email protected].

No, Noumena!

Noumena, a recently viral app in Referral World, is making news today for an entirely different reason. They have started cracking down and auditing account referrals, removing/invalidating signups and earned referral bonuses, even disabling accounts. From the sounds of it, people who have earned referral bonuses and got their accounts shut down aren't getting any of their bonuses (if Noumena has their say, anyway). Per the first screenshot below, they're requiring folks to provide links to their social media accounts or website that prove they are bona fide freelancers.

Noumena isn't the first app to pull this on their customers. StartEngine, Moocho, Northone are just a few of the apps who also reneged on bonuses in recent months.

Noumena provided an email address - [email protected] - if you have any questions and/or would like to dispute their decision as it relates to your account.

Rakuten's $40 Bonuses are Back

https://www.rakuten.com/r/MPHO202?eeid=28187

Rakuten - formerly Ebates - is running their $40 signup and referral bonus promotion again! This oldie-but-goodie app is one of the most dependable apps in my referral arsenal. Tried and true, pays out as promised and not going anywhere anytime soon. The terms: Sign up using a referral link, spend $40 or more at any of thousands of retailers through their portal, and you'll get a $40 bonus (on top of the regular cashback the stores you choose offers). Get another $40 bonus for each person you refer who does the same thing.

App Mentions

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with - let alone sign up for - all the new, viral apps as they hit referral world. Here are just a few apps I've been seeing quite a bit in recent days/weeks but haven't signed up for:

Gamegoda - Play games for cash, cash out at $80 to PayPal - $10 signup, $1 referral bonuses.

Hopper - Earn rewards, redeemable towards flights, hotels, rental cars, etc. $10 signup and referral bonuses.

KoinBasket - a simple and secure platform to invest in crypto baskets. $10 signup and referral bonuses (paid into your Coinbase wallet).

Mana - "Banking for Gamers" - offers a checking account and debit card for people who enjoy playing video games and want to get rewarded for doing what they know and love. $10 gift card signup bonus ($10 referral bonuses, as well).

Noumena - $30 referral bonuses. Join thousands of freelancers/solopreneurs to connect, do business and level up your finances. Pays on the first of the month.

Presto - "Get Paid to Post!" - Get 10,000 vibes to link others' content with. Cash out at $2+. Available in several countries.

SyenApp - 1250 points when you sign up, 1000 points for each referral. Redeem for PayPal, Zelle or gift cards once you reach $10.

If/when I sign up for these apps, email me if you'd like my referral link emailed to you, and/or more info. Also, let me know if there are more apps that you think should be added to this list!

Last two weeks of Upgrade's $100 Bonus Promotion

http://upgrade.com/r/P1p8TqIlUd

One of the best bank bonuses to hit Referral World in quite some time is in its final two weeks of opportunity. If you haven't heard of Upgrade, yet, it's a banking app/site backed by Cross River and Blue Ridge banks, both FDIC insured. What makes Upgrade so great is that, through 10/31, you get a $100 signup bonus when you sign up, deposit any amount, and make three transactions anywhere. No minimum deposit OR spend requirement. I triggered my bonus by reloading my Amazon gift card balance with $1 three times.

You can earn up to $1,000 in referral bonuses per year. Including your signup bonus, you can earn a total possible $1,100 this year.

The only "downside" is that there's no virtual card, but it's been taking most only a few days to a week to receive the card, and you can refer to others while you wait on the card!
