Lived experience: Housing crisis

Feb 05, 2024

People have been warning of a London housing crisis for decades and their calls ignored or invalidated. I published about it ten years ago and I wasn't the first. "Just move somewhere else" isn't an option available to everyone. Even many of those who now do acknowledge there's a crisis, speak or write about it as if it's something fairly recent—perhaps basing themselves on when it started affecting them and/or their nearest and dearest.

Anyway, here's what I published ten years ago: https://medium.com/@jojowiththeflow/the-future-of-london-living-is-that-for-many-it-wont-exist-37744b8c78d4

And here's what I published recently: https://jojowiththeflow.substack.com/p/lived-experience-housing-crisis

Neither was or is an invite for unsolicited advice.

There's no need to rush to respond, or to respond at all for that matter. Sometimes all that's needed is for people read/listen/watch—not even to me, but to everyone else who's been trying to garner people's attention on particular topics.

I am so tired. I can't imagine how proper activists who have been sounding the alarm bells for decades must be feeling.
