On the day I found that some of my past Patreon posts are no longer public, my LinkedIn feed was taken over by notifications from groups that I had apparently been added to without anyone asking me if I wanted to, and my new 'for you' Twitter feed that no one asked for was deluged with utterly pointless automated posts from bot accounts, I present to you my belated new year's wishes to you all by way of a Substack post that I happened to have scheduled to go out today anyway.
Because user experience is not just the responsibility of developers (and the people telling them what to do and how to do it), it is very much our collective responsiblity as users (and, where applicable, those telling us what to do and how to do it) as well.
