#GoodNovel Christmas Special Event

The snow falls beautifully on the trail. Princess Aria marvels about it as soon as they magically appear at the trail that she has often tread when she is still living in the human world. She previously planned to return here without using any magic so she can see and feel once more what she misses in this world. It is the time of the year when she used to go on hikes with Popsie Reed and Marmee Rose with the mission of finding the perfect Christmas tree for the holiday. Of course, Jo would tag along. Half of the time, they end up having snow ball fights. That is one of the best memory she ever had during Christmas season. For now, she is convinced by Bran to just magically transport them here. He reasoned that they are already late for the Christmas dinner. Jo would be furious at them if she has to wait any longer. Caspian takes Princess Aria’s hand as they cross the street while Bran follows behind carrying extraordinary presents from their realm for Popsie, Marmee, and the Daniels. For tonight, they wore ordinary jeans, shirts with jackets, boots and gloves for the sake of Jo's parents who have no idea about fairies and other out of this world stuff. What they know is that Arianna stays with her real parents at the Valley now. “I couldn’t imagine how Jo manages to pretend to her folks not knowing about anything in our world?” Bran asks most probably just to himself. He is truly puzzled on how Princess Aria could have such a very loyal friend. Caspian and Princess Aria do not reply anymore. Bran appears to always marvel on Jo's acceptance about strange things and treating them like ordinary day-to-day events. He seems hopeful that he and Jo could be more than just friends. There is only the four of them tonight. The others are busy with certain changes in the Four Realms. Having Queen Ava gives the other Kings and Queens something to discuss about since the new Queen has been giving different ideas on how the fairy realms could adapt better to the outside world like the werewolves and vampires. So for now, everyone is on their toes to figure out if these suggestions could work for the fairies as well. Queen Ava even hints on allowing fairies to co-exist with humans in even closer proximity like living among them. But of course, it would be with certain precautions. King Merlion and Queen Alina allow Princess Aria to have this holiday in the human world. This works perfectly well for her because Christmas season is the best time in this part of the world. “Umm, I could already smell the hot chocolates with marshmallows.” Bran exclaims sniffing. By now, he has been accustomed to some aromas of the human food and drinks. Princess Aria smiles as she knocks at the unchanging blue door but for now has an additional wreath decoration for the holiday ambiance. “Hey, you’re late!” It is Jo who greets them with a pretend frown. Then, she smiles widely at her best friend. They hug each other tightly as if they didn’t see each other for a long time. “Sorry, we got caught up with Queen Ava’s meetings.” Princess Aria responds apologetically. “Hello boys! Merry Christmas!” Jo says as she lets everyone in as if it’s her own house. When Princess Aria looks around the house, she notices the prettiest Christmas tree she could ever imagine. Standing beside it are Popsie and Marmee with a bright smile. She rushes to them and gives each one a warm hug. “Merry Christmas!” She greets them. “Happy holidays Uncle Mark and Aunt Liv.” She then says to Jo's parents. Caspian and Bran greet everyone in like manner and they all settle themselves at the dining area. The table is filled with roast turkey and beef, potatoes, carrots, apple pies, and hot chocolates and other stuff for the sweet tooth. While they sit and share this wonderful holiday dinner, Princess Aria could not help but get nostalgic of every Christmas she has spent here in this loving family who took her in. She stares at each and everyone here that has been a part of her life while growing up. She might have felt like she has been forgotten by the fairy world for a while back then, but spending her time in the human world is something she would never trade even if she is a Princess in her own fairy realm. After dinner, everyone settle at the sofa and exchange gifts. They sip warm chocolate once more as each one shares their story about Christmas. Caspian and Bran enjoy listening to these stories of the holiday most especially about Santa and his elves. Later in the evening, the parents of Jo excuse themselves to leave but as usual, Jo stays behind. Popsie and Marmee goes upstairs to let the younger ones enjoy their night cap. “Merry Christmas everyone!” Bran says a bit breathless for stuffing himself so much with Marmee's cooking. “Merry Christmas guys! I am so happy to spend it with all of you. Last year is a bit too boring in Alaska. Oh by the way Anna, Josh says hi and wishes you a happy holiday. He chatted with me this afternoon. I used your computer upstairs.” Jo says nonstop. “Merry Christmas too. Same feeling here.” Princess Aria replies back. “Who is Josh?” Bran asks intrigued. “My friend in Alaska.” Jo answers quickly, clueless of Bran’s sour expression. Caspian and Princess Aria laughs out loud while Jo looks at them with a puzzled look. ***************** Princess Aria and Caspian stand facing each other on the frozen lake. Caspian’s expression is of uncertainty. “Are you sure this is safe?” He asks the Princess. “Trust me, this is easy.” The Princess replies unable to hide the amusement on her own face. She lets go of Caspian’s hand and slowly slides her own feet on the frozen ice. She glides gracefully a few paces away from Caspian. Caspian observes the Princess with utter concentration. It looks easy enough. He thought to himself. Caspian moves in imitation of what the Princess has demonstrated earlier. He seems to be getting it but suddenly he loses his balance and falls hard with his bottom first on the ground. The Princess gasps but giggles uncontrollably. She goes to her ranger to help him stand. “You are really enjoying this, aren’t you?” Caspian says in pretentious hurt. “I just think, for a fairy with the air element up his sleeves, you should use that to your advantage.” Princess Aria explains. “You said you wanted to learn how to skate on the ice. So here we are…” She states further. “Okay, okay. I would try again.” Caspian takes a deep breath and starts over. He moves slowly and a bit reluctant at first. Then after a while he glides as gracefully as the Princess in no time. Princess Aria claps loudly in appreciation. She glides towards Caspian and he receives her hand in his. They skate on the frozen lake hand in hand. They are like professional figure skaters on the ice. The young fairies look like enchanted creatures under the light of the moon. The lake they froze magically to create a Christmas atmosphere in the Green Haven adds to the dreamy scene. For Princess Aria, having met his ranger is the best part of this world.
