The low-spoiler hints, that were only in early access earlier, are now published to everyone. Darkside Detective, a classic point'n'click game, contains nine, six plus three bonus, self-contained cases. This means everything needed to solve one case will be done inside that one scenario.
This helped immensely to write the hints for the game. I could concentrate on one case at a time and write it ready before moving to the next. There is only automatic saving but that wasn't that much of a problem as I could just restart the case and quickly click through the puzzles. Some of the cases were quite straightforward while others had a little more branching. The smallest case required only four hint files.
I am a little two-fold about the puzzles. The puzzles are quite logical and make sense so there is no moon logic involved. But the game lacks hotspot functionality so part of the solving is finding all the items and all the places you can visit. Luckily the resolution is so small that it is not that hard to find all the items in a scene. One other catch is that you cannot pick certain items until you find a reason. And many items are just red herrings serving puns and jokes. Remember to revisit areas after you get forward on some other puzzle.
Overall the game is still enjoyable and I got laughs from it and a nice story. You really grow into liking the two protagonists and their backgrounds. Many of the puzzles should be quite easy and the most logical answer is usually the correct answer.
