Love in the Time of CONVID-19

Mar 24, 2020

Well what a multi-angle curveball CONVID-19 is to our every day life, amirite?

As confusion and challenges mount and we are put on hold by our lovely Earth Mother, we are only starting to begin to understand what this all means for each and everyone of us in the long run.

While I in no way want to disregard anyone else's very real tests of how to deal with this day by day, I want to share and address what it means for us, the artist community, to give you a better understanding of why we are indeed also a very vulnerable crowd in this situation.

Artists pour their hearts into their work in the shadows for many, many years before getting noticed and even longer before they are able to make a humble living of their work.

Sick leave? Ha!

Paid days off? What's that!

'Just work from home'? We already do. And don't get paid for it.

So why are we putting ourselves in such a place of uncertainty even when the world is turning in its usual ways? The answer is because we cannot not do it.

We have a heartfelt duty to fulfill. We are here to make your day a little brighter, making you see a world you otherwise wouldn't. We are running on our hearts beating in color and our fueled passion to create something that makes you smile, cry, feel or enjoy life a little more.

We are inspired by creating love and connection. We try our best to capture the playfulness of the world to take you for a spin when you need a break from you worries or stress.

We are here for you to make you fall in love.

And we will not stop.

Now, are we currently as essential as health care workers or manufacturers? Of course not.

But we are part of the human community that makes the society what it is, the one we all appreciate and we all want to get back to.

Unfortunately, we are also part of the community that does not have the financial security of a weekly or monthly pay check. We are always dependent on your independent love and appreciation for our work.

And so are we now.

Of course we do understand that in the current times booking a photo shoot, commissioning a painting or buying an art piece is not very high on the priority list.

But if you ever fell in love with a photograph, if you ever hung a painting in your home that brought you joy, if you ever felt deeply touched by a poem, a sculpture or a play, please consider buying us a cup of coffee to make us continue.

It is not only a small contribution to our financial stability when we have none, it is a conversation.

It is a compliment.

It is compassion and kindness telling us 'I appreciate you and the joy you are bringing into my world'

It is a simple 'I see you and I am happy you are here'

And we love to make you feel that way.

If you buy me a coffee, don't forget to put your instagram name in the little message box. I will shout out each and everyone of you precious souls in my stories with my favorite photo of yours! THANK YOU!
