Reflection in Deuteronomy 4:5-8

Reflection in Deuteronomy 4:5-8

Jul 21, 2021

5 See, I have taught you statutes and rules, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do them in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 6 Keep them and do them, for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7 For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? 8 And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?  (Deuteronomy 4:5-8)

God had already given His commands to Moses and now Moses is task to deliver it to Israel, and with this passages we can see that Moses is commanding the people of Israel to be in obedience to the Statutes and rules of God and in verse He told them to keep it and Do it, even though we are not the Israelites and the verse is directed to us but I learn from this that in our Walk with Jesus in this life is that Jesus had commanded us to Love the Lord our God with all of our Heart, Strength and Soul, and that we should love our neighbors as our self and this is very hard to follow and sometimes we also become those Israelites we falter, we fall , we fail, we forget, we become impatient, always complaining, but the thing about our God is that he never fails to remind us, to remind about His Commands, He never fail to remind us every day that we should always follow Him and for me that is so beautiful, just imagine if all people will believe and keep the statutes of God in His Word how peaceful and Blessed our nation would be. But again we should start with ourselves, we should always pray for the strength and enablement of the Holy Spirit to obey God every day of our lives.
