A drunken tale to boost your copy...and ...

A drunken tale to boost your copy...and your business

Nov 15, 2020

Did you hear the one about the drunken guy looking for his house keys under a street lamp late one night?

You know, where the policeman comes up and asks him: “What are you doing?”

No?

Okay, well it goes something like this...

Policeman:   “Ello, Ello, Ello.  What’s happening ‘ere then?”

Drunk:  “I am..uh... looking for my keyssss, ofissuuur

Policeman: “Where did you last see them, sir?”

Drunk:   “Over there I think, by the hedge – when they fell out of my pocket.”

Policeman:  “So why are you looking for them here, under the street lamp?”

Drunk:  “Because the light is much better here.”

Boom Boom!  😁

As absurd as it might seem at first, we may also be metaphorically looking for our keys under a lamp post when it comes to our marketing messaging.

For example:

Are we highlighting the benefits of our product that our target audience is just not interested in?

Are we telling our audience about the features rather than the benefits of the features?

Are we talking our audience’s language, really hitting on what really matters to them?

And what about a bit closer to home?

With our businesses, are we focusing our energy on the wrong places?

It too can be like looking for a set of keys in the wrong place EVEN THOUGH deep down we KNOW they simply cannot be there because the alternative is going to require more groundwork and in some cases, going back to the drawing board.

It's worth thinking about.

Until next time,

Love, Peace & Good Luck Finding Your Keys!
