DETOX TIME?

DETOX TIME?

May 24, 2021

HOW DO YOU KNOW IF IT’S TIME TO DETOX?

  • Do you sweat or do you not sweat at all?

  • Do you have eczema, hives or other skin conditions?

  • Do you have a weight problem?

  • Do you usually feel tired and lethargic?

  • Do you have difficulty concentrating?

  • Do you suffer from frequent mood swings, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, or bouts of depression?

  • Do you have aches and pains in your joints?

  • Do you catch a cold or fall sick easily?

  • Do you have breast implants?

  • Do you have amalgam/mercury fillings?

  • Do you take Ambien or Tylenol PM to get to sleep at night?

  • Do you need to take Ibuprofen to get through your day?

If you've selected any of these symptoms or signs... well my friends, it's time to detox. The good news is that Detox is one of my specialties and not the hard starving way!

Here a small beginning:

STEP 1. Detox Your Home.

  1. Ditch the air fresheners and synthetic fragrances. You’ll reduce your exposure to phthalates.

  2. Swap out non-toxic cleaning products and laundry detergent. Dryer sheets and fabric softeners are super toxic.

  3. Replace your makeup and skincare with safer products. Check the EWG.org skin-deep database.

  4. Go grab some house plants and place them in the rooms of your house.

  5. Take your outdoor shoes off at the door. You’ll avoid bringing in toxic pesticides.

  6. Replace your air filters regularly. If you’re concerned about mold, order an ERMI test.

  7. Turn off your wifi at night and test your home for dirty electricity. You will at the minimum reduce your exposure to EMF’s (electromagnetic radiation) while you sleep.

  8. Avoid non-stick pans, bakeware, and utensils. Teflon contains perfluorinated chemicals (PFC’s) which have been linked to cancer and developmental problems

  9. Avoid stain-guarded clothing, furniture and carpets Wrinkle-free and permanent press fabrics used for clothing and bedding commonly contain formaldehyde – use untreated fabrics where possible.

  10. Keep house dust to a minimum (as more dust means more toxins). Mop all surfaces at least once a week. Use a vacuum cleaner (with a HEPA filter, preferably) for your carpets. HEPA-filter vacuums capture the widest range of particles and get rid of allergens.

STEP 2. Check Your Own Body’s Filtering System.

How to Determine if Your Kidneys are Filtering?

  1. Collect your first-morning urine in a clear container like a jar.

  2. Place in the refrigerator for 4-5 hours.

  3. Examine the urine to see if it's clear or if there is sediment or cloudiness. If your urine is clear, you are NOT filtering. This is a sign that it's time for detox.

STEP 3. Check Your Household’s Water.

How to Find Out What's In Your Water?

  1. The tap water you drink and bathe in may contain toxic pollutants and chemicals. Enter your zip code HERE to find out what's in your water.

  2. Please take a moment to watch this video.

  3. Change your shower head to a filtering system to remove chemicals that harm your body and enter directly into your scalp, the first point of entry.

  4. Consider installing an under sink or a whole house water filtration system.
