You had thought to spend more time on it. Crafting, preparing, drilling.

It's now the night before.

Something else comes up. You think about your topic and you know it. You think to yourself 'I will just wing this one.'

This term is explained by Robert Charles Lee:

'"Wing it" (to wing it) is an English idiom meaning to improvise - in other words, to invent a manner on the spot (on the fly) to cope with a situation you are unprepared for. Quite simply, you do.'

An impromptu way of getting ready for an important presentation. Hmm.

OK. I am not going to give you a lecture which you have to study prior to the test, i.e. rehearse your speech endlessly and have every word memorized...

But! Training is vital.

What I am going to disclose is that you can go into this presentation with a strategy.

Besides your panache and appeal. (Bring them along though.)

The strategy can be accomplished through one vital superpower that lies in you:

Aim.

Ask yourself: what is my intention with this presentation?

Here are 3 ways to turbocharge your Intention:

  • Give value - to your team (crowd). There's knowledge and insight that you have and your team don't have. Locate an appealing solution to deliver this. Imagine you are sitting in the audience listening to you personally. What would make you see the advice presented unique, new and fresh.

  • Seek advice - from your team. There is insight and knowledge which they have and you do not. Bring your crowd throughout your skilled facilitation abilities into the demo, make them part of it. Flesh out what it means both positive and negative. Challenge them.

  • Grow - together. Use this time as a chance to bring your team closer to you, your Vision. In the correct manner, they are going to feel like they've experienced a thrilling ride, a rush.

The trick will be to grow your public speaking wings, your wings.

Possess the confidence in your speaking give and grow.

Picture... once you have your public speaking wings, you will soar the heavens with success.

For your superiority in speaking,
