A Mother’s Guide to Pouring into YOU

A Mother’s Guide to Pouring into YOU

Jul 12, 2022

Let me start by saying that I KNOW this is all easier said than done. Being a mother does not mean sacrificing yourself as a woman. We do not not lose our identity in motherhood our identity evolves. Let me also argue that being a woman first is also being a mother first because YOUR CHILD deserves you at your best. Here are ways I intentionally pour into myself and I know my child thanks me for it because he deserves for me to show up whole.

  1. WASH YOUR ASS. Before you were a mother a shower was not some luxury you indulged yourself in every once in a while. It was a basic necessity and the bare minimum of taking care of yourself. IT IS NO DIFFERENT NOW! Hygiene is a non negotiable. Being clean is not something to sacrifice.

  2. EAT for crying out loud!!! Would you hop in your car for a road trip with your tank on E?? FUCK NO you wouldn’t because you don’t want to end up broke down on the side of the road wishing you never cancelled that AAA membership. Food is your fuel and it also a NON Negotiable. Hold yourself accountable and fuel your body

  3. EXERCISE I’m not saying you need to become a gym rat. I’m not saying start cross country or body building but GIRL…please move your body. Find a 15-20 min video and promise yourself you’ll finish it no matter how many times you pause it. During nap time don’t you dare wash those dishes or fold that laundry stretch, do yoga, meditate, or dance.

  4. When you look in the mirror compliment yourself. LOVE what you see stop with the negative self talk. YOU are BADASS. WE are ever EVERYTHING to these tiny humans and we owe it to them to not talk down on ourselves. We are just as great as they see us. We are EVERYTHING.

  5. GRACE…One day at a time. Just one day at a time. Remember take it ONE DAY AT A TIME!
