My battle with PPD 10 Month Update

I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately. I've been trying to be honest with myself about the things I'm feeling even if it's not what I think I "SHOULD" be feeling. I've been in an ongoing battle with PPD and one of the first signs the battle is shifting out of my favor are intrusive thoughts and negative self talk. I'm still working on the prevention aspect of all this but what I have gotten a handle on is acknowledgement and redirection. Here is my guide.

  1. Acknowledge the thought- This thought is here. You know why you are thinking this way. Take a moment and know it is okay.

  2. Let it pass- Let the thought flee. Take a literal breath.

  3. Make a plan of action SELF CARE (Exercise, grooming, ME time even for 5 minutes)

  4. Find an outlet Safe and Judgement free (WRITE)

  5. REPEAT and Don't give up
