It's Summer and the Pohutukawa blooms for Christmas in New Zealand. They are just starting to burst forth, and you will love getting up close to them. It is almost the equivalent to the Cherry Blossom season in Japan with everyone searching for the best and brightest flowers
The bees are buzzing and making the fabulous honey from the flowers. Join me as we discover the Pohutukawa bursting forth along the waterfront. Pohutukawa has fascinating stories and myths and one I just discovered is that in 1941 in the Libyan desert a Christmas song was written about the Pohutukawa tree and I have the words!
