Support independent fiction and buy me a cup of coffee! 😁
Take a second out of your busy schedule for a micro-dose of fiction to help awaken your creativity. What is microfiction? It's a whole story told in 300 words or fewer. Bite-sized, you might say.
On top of my minute-long reads, I also share short stories, chapters of future novels and the other fun creative fiction, like RPG adventures and writing prompts. If you'd like early access to upcoming published works, check out a membership.

Microfiction is a short story condensed into 300 or fewer words. It's a great format for capturing a specific emotion and delivering a twist in just a few sentences. These stories have a beginning, middle and an end, but there's no room for fluff! Surgical precision is necessary for your reader to experience shock, surprise, humor or thrills in one bite.

My name is Luke Atkinson and I'm an award-winning communications professional living in Chicago. My writing career spans from journalism and creative fiction to marketing and brand storytelling for nonprofit organizations.
When I was a kid, my parents owned a Brother Word Processor. This clunky machine was the product of mashing together a typewriter and a computer, but it was my ticket to creative freedom. I wrote some dumb stuff, like Super Mario fanfic and stern letters to advertising companies taking advantage of kids' vulnerability to marketing, but it was the formative activity of my childhood. Wouldn't trade it for nothin'.
