About Me 💭

Main Projects

The centerpiece of my art right now is a musical I started developing over a year ago. Pulling real-life experiences apart into threads, to weave them all together again to create something that is both an autobiography and a lantern for synonymous souls.

I have started writing poetry more seriously as a way to process my feelings, to conceptualize something that I have yet to come to grips with. Eventually, it is a goal of mine to publish this collection of poems into a book. My favorites I have been sharing on social media, but I will share everything I have finished here, in my 'To Love Lost, and Hope Found' series.

My Favorite Creative Fuel

I love a warm cup of tea to keep me company while I write and listen via headphones to my curated playlist of bilateral stim tracks. Not only does it feel like my brain is getting a musical massage, but I also swear it boosts my creativity tenfold.

I love resetting creatively by taking walks in the orchard with my dog and the camera, sitting in my reading nook listening to the rain, or watching the sky from the roof. Anything that gets my body moving and lets my mind wander.

Current Obsessions in Literature

Let me be clear on what I mean by 'current obsessions' because if this was solely a list of my favorites it would be very long. I mean that these are the artistic pieces I am still absorbing, learning from, and probably will for years. Their maestros are some of my heroes, and I am a student of their genius.

Hadestown - Anaïs Mitchell

The Valkyries - Paulo Coehlo

Tick, Tick, BOOM! -Jonathan Larsen

The Artist's Way - Julia Cameron

Why I Do What I Do

I started writing at a very young age. It started with music, then short stories with no endings, and then more music & poetry. It's cathartic but more profound than that, to this day, writing is my safe place. It's the way I process the deep, complex emotions that make up the corners of my being as I continue to discover them. A way to understand my own experience and others through an artistic lens, an emotional lens, with the hope that it will widen more than my perspective alone.

☞ If you're still reading at the end of this, comment on what your most shared piece of art is. A play, a song, an artist, anything and everything counts! ❤︎
