Because of 21 biweekly World Ceilidhs we grew into a large community of storytellers, puppeteers, poets and musicians. If I am correct, we had logins from 32 different countries so far, which makes me very happy. Yet there are some side effects that I don't like.
We often use more then one page on zoom. That decreses (for me) the feeling of togetherness and intimicy. Another (luxury) problem is that it regularly happens that friends - who have taken the trouble to prepare a story, a song or a poem - are left sad after the event, because there was no more time to share their creative expression with the group.
That's why I've decided to make it a WEEKLY recurring event.
SO, from now on there is a (English spoken) World Ceilidh every Sunday.
It will mean that there will likely be fewer attendees per edition, so we may not always be able to fill two hours, but who cares? It's not always the length that gives it pleasure!
Recordings
Another thing is that I haven't made any recordings so far, nor have I allowed others to do so. I still think recording a story could kill the intimacy and uniqueness of the moment. Yet I now think that sometimes - because of the same intimate and friendly atmosphere - storytellers tell so nicely that it could be a shame not to at least offer the option of a recording.
So from now on, if you ask me in time (just before you start telling), I will hit the record button. I will send you the recording afterwards via WeTransfer.
I will NEVER publish it myself without your explicit consent. What you do with it will be up to you.
