KNTFL Preliminary Final preview

KNTFL Preliminary Final preview

Sep 05, 2022

Mundulla are back in form and ready for the rematch against Keith this week at Naracoorte in the Preliminary Final. In the Qualifying Final, the Crows and Tigers played a great game. The Crows were able to pull away in the fourth quarter and record a strong win.

The Crows played a great game against Lucindale in the Second Semi Final and nearly pinched it after coming from the clouds in the fourth quarter to get the lead, but couldn't hold it as the Roos got across the line.

Mundulla put their stamp on the game against Naracoorte in the First Semi Final early with a big first quarter and never looked back. The Tigers dismantled the Demons across the four quarters and they look back to their best. The Tigers look like a different team when they have Darcy King and Lachlan Duell in it. These Two great bookends control the teams line up in the key positions forward and back.

Jake McGrice looks to be over his injury problems as well as he put in a great performance on Sunday. The Mosey boys in Nicholas and Dylan add lots to this team. They are very consistent performers and need to be shut down if the Crows have any chance.

For the Crows, Billy Wade not being in the team has been a massive loss as he has 48-goals for the season. Billy has missed the first two finals and the Crows will be hoping he is back this week to add to the strong forward set up they have. George Johnson and Lewis Hender were huge in their Qualifying Final win and will be looking forward to the extra help of Wade to help kick Keith a winning score.

Seb Schreiber was awesome in the Qualifying Final and will again look to hold up the defence. Ryan Bartlett will look to help Seb out and rebound the ball whenever Mundulla push forward. George Thring must have a big game and use his SANFL experience to lead and be the start of the clearance work. The Crows know it will be hard and tough around the ball, Thring can use his quick thinking and quick hands to open up a clearance for the Crows runners to take advantage of. Daniel Bibby is another classy mover the Crows need firing. Bibby can run all day long and the Crows need to get the ball in his hands often to hurt the Tigers.

Mundulla will be primed for this game and I feel that they will get up in a close hard fought game. Keith will be fired up to get revenge after Mundulla ended their season last year by a goal in the Preliminary Final. The Tigers long arms and and leading patterns could really show out on the Naracoorte ground and it could be a bit too much for the Crows to stop. Darcy King looks to be on top of his game and Jake McGrice looks to be back to near full fitness and he loves this time of the season. I'm picking Mundulla to win and defend their title in the Grand Final in Kingston in a weeks time.

Prediction: Mundulla by 12-points
