Lucindale move in to the 2022 Grand Final

Sep 06, 2022

Lucindale won through to the 2022 Kowree Naracoorte-Tatiara Grand Final after defeating Keith in a classic contest at Francis on Saturday. The game was close for the first half until the Roos made a break away in the third quarter and were able to open up a four-goal margin by three quarter time. The Crows looked down and out but they had other ideas. The Crows began the fourth like a house on fire and kicked the first four goals of the quarter to get the lead back in an amazing push. The Roos though, settled and were able to get the last two goals of the game and win through to the Grand Final.

Hamish Gordon and Sam Williams were strong in front of goal for the Roos with three goals each. Tom Logan, Sam Williams and Hamish Gordon all were big reasons why the Roos have had a great year and on Saturday they continued their great form.

Andrew Cousins battled hard for the Crows as their only multiple goal kicker with two. Lucindale did a great job on Lewis Hender to hold him to just one goal for the game. Ryan Bartlett, George Thring and Daniel Bibby were strong Crows contributors throughout the game.

The Roos did a great job to withstand the challenge of Keith. The Crows threw everything they had at them, but the Roos showed why they finished top of the ladder after the minor rounds and were able to get the job done in the end.

Lucindale now can put their feet up and rest and plan for the Grand Final in a bit over a weeks' time at Kingston. The Crows now have a re-match against Mundulla at Naracoorte and that is a re-match of the Qualifying Final and last year's Preliminary Final and both of those games were hard fought games.
