Sep 07, 2022

Below I have included a video tutorial on how to add, setup, and adjust the "Blissful Misery" Buildable Overlay System Asset Pack. I will also include text instructions below that.

This post may be updated with new or better information at anytime.

Text Instructions

This is a very special themed buildable overlay pack that I have designed based on my bands original graphics.

Due to this and file size limitations on BMC I could not fit Full single image overlays in the download.

Anyone who has purchased this pack can feel free to message me, and once verified, I will build a single image for them and send it to them. I will need to know your choice for components, and opacity levels for each.

I have created these in 4K resolution, but they can easily be fitted to other resolutions such as 1080. I will leave those sizes below. This is for use in programs such as OBS. If you wish to use them in other applications you will have to figure out how to adapt my instructions to them.

To use my assets it's best to make a separate scene specifically for the overlay, and if using a border for a webcam a scene for your webcam as well.

Recommended Order of sources / layers from Top to Bottom

  1. Bottom Flame

  2. Border

  3. Name Badge

  4. Top Flame

These setup instructions will be in order to put your sources in the order I suggested above.

These work for both full screen overlays and webcam overlays. However, I'll explain webcam a little more later.

Full Screen Overlay

  • Create a new Scene. I will call it OverlaySCN, but choose a name you want

Top Flame

  • If you want to use the Top Flame do the following, otherwise skip to the next section.

  • Add a new Source, Choose Image, and I'll call this one Overlay - Top

  • Choose one of the BM Top Ghost files

  • Check Unload Image When Not Showing

  • 40 is at 40% opacity, and is my preferred choice

  • 100 is at 100% opacity

  • 100 can be used as is or you can add a filter to it later to change the opacity whatever you want

  • Use the Quick Reference Below to find the size you need

  • Press CTRL + E or Right Click on the Overlay - Top, Hover over Transform, and choose Edit Transform

  • Set the left Size field to the Width, and the right Size field to the Height

  • For this you want the position to be 0.00 and 0.00

  • Click Close on the Edit Transform Box

---

  • To change the opacity of the image Right Click on Overlay - Top and click Filters

  • Add a Color Key Filter

  • Leave the color as Green

  • Set Similarity and Smoothness as low as they will go, which is 1

  • Leave Contrast, Brightness, and Gamma as is, which is all 0

  • For a % simply change the number to .## of the percentage you want to use.

  • i.e. 40 is 0.40

  • You can also use the slider to drag it to what you want if you don't care to be so precise.

Name Badge

  • If you want to use the Name Badge do the following, otherwise skip to the next section.

  • Add a new Source, Choose Image, and I'll call this one Overlay - Name Badge

  • Choose one of the NB BM files to use

  • Check Unload Image When Not Showing

  • Flame Back has extra flames as a background for the Name Badge, This is my preferred for this theme

  • Matching has the standard low opacity black background

  • Use the Quick Reference Below to find the size you need

  • Press CTRL + E or Right Click on the Overlay - Name Badge, hover over Transform, and choose Edit Transform

  • Set the left Size field to the Width, and the right Size field to the Height

  • Set your Position to 0, 0

  • Click Close on the Edit Transform Box

  • Right click the Overlay - Name Badge Source in the Sources list

  • Hover over Transform, and click Center Horizontally

Border

  • If you want to use the Border do the following, otherwise skip to the next section.

  • Add a new Source, Choose Image, and I'll call this one Overlay - Border

  • Choose the file Border BM Standard

  • Check Unload Image When Not Showing

  • Make sure you click the Overlay - Border Source in the Sources list to select it

  • Now either Press CTRL + F OR

  • Right Click on Overlay - Border, hover over Transform, and click Fit To Screen

Bottom Flame

  • If you want to use the Bottom Flame do the following, otherwise skip to the next section.

  • Add a new Source, Choose Image, and I'll call this one Overlay - Bottom

  • Choose one of the BM Bottom Ghost files

  • Check Unload Image When Not Showing

  • 40 is at 40% opacity, and is really ghostly

  • 60 is at 60% opacity, and is my preferred choice

  • 80 is at 80% opacity, and is just a tiny bit of opacity drop

  • 100 is at 100% opacity

  • 100 can be used as is or you can add a filter to it later to change the opacity whatever you want

  • Use the Quick Reference Below to find the size you need

  • Press CTRL + E or Right Click on the Overlay - Bottom, hover over Transform, and choose Edit Transform

  • Set the left Size field to the Width, and the right Size field to the Height

  • Click Close on the Edit Transform Box

  • Make sure you click the Overlay - Bottom Source in the Sources list to select it

  • Click the Overlay - Bottom image in the preview window and drag it down to the bottom of your screen

  • This should snap into place, if not make sure you have snap setup properly in your settings

---

  • To change the opacity of the image Right Click on Overlay - Bottom and click Filters

  • Add a Color Key Filter

  • Leave the color as Green

  • Set Similarity and Smoothness as low as they will go, which is 1

  • Leave Contrast, Brightness, and Gamma as is, which is all 0

  • For a % simply change the number to 0.## of the percentage you want to use

  • i.e. 60 is 0.60

  • You can also use the slider to drag it to what you want if you don't care to be so precise

Webcam Overlay

Please read this entire section before actually doing anything

  • If you want to use Chroma Key and erase your background you may not want a box

  • However, you can add an image as your bottom most source as a background if you wish

  • If you don't already have a Webcam scene you should make a new scene, I'll call it WebcamSCN

  • 1.1 If you have your webcam already in another scene

  • Add a Source to WebcamSCN, choose Video Capture Device, click Add Existing, and choose the Webcam

  • 1.2 If you don't have a webcam already in another scene

  • Add a Source to WebcamSCN, choose Video Capture Device, I'll call it Webcam

  • Make sure Show Device is enabled, and click OK

  • Choose your webcam from the menu.

  • Click on Webcam in the sources menu, and either press CTRL + F or use the Transform > Fit To Screen

  • From here use the above instructions to add the layers above your Webcam source that you want to have

  • If you want to use the sources exactly as they are in your main OverlaySCN you can just Add Existing sources

  • If not, add new sources for the files you wish to use

  • If you wish to add something under your webcam it's best to create another scene, and nest the WebcamSCN into it

  • At this point you can size and position your WebcameSCN into that scene, and then add whatever you want under it

  • You can then bring in this scene into your main scenes that your viewers will be seeing

  • Once you have your Webcam Scene setup properly go to any other scene you wish to add your webcam to

  • In that Scene add a Source, choose Scene, choose proper Webcam Scene you wish to use

  • You may want to use either of the scenes based on what you are showing to your viewers

  • i.e... Gaming may need a small scene with your name under it

  • While a talk scene you may just want your Webcam at full size

  • Use the nodes around the edges of the source to resize the Webcam Scene Source to what you want

  • Click on the Source in the preview and drag it to where you want it

  • Make sure to customize your webcam scenes so they can be nested for any situation you may want to use

  • Therefore, it's wise to have a scene that's simply your camera and nothing else sometimes

  • You may end up with 1 to 4 or even more scenes just for your webcam

  • Just remember you only need to have your actual Webcam Video Capture Device Source in one scene

  • Nest that scene in other scenes as your webcam if need be
