MARI MATIS BISHOP is formally trained in the genre of Abstract Art but her work spans the myriad from impressionism to abstract to beach art without missing a single beat. Mari credits much of her inspiration to the Artists she studied at The Museum of Modern Art while living in New York City where she spent years sitting and poring over the works of Joan Mitchell, Monet, Pollock, Krasner, and other modern and contemporary artists.
She studied Art in high school where she was enrolled in a specialized program geared toward Fine Art. She earned an Associates degree in Photography before going on to study Abstract Art holding a Baccalaureate degree from ISU. Later she studied Fine Art Film and worked in both Film and Television.
Mari Matis Bishop has worked and sold art in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Bisbee, Arizona and Paris, France among others. Her work has been displayed at Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria, LA
She currently creates and lives in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico where she is producing three inspired collections "Vallarta Series II, "Banderas Floral Collection" and “Vallarta Suitcase Series”with mixed media paint.
