Back to Brownsville

Back to Brownsville

Aug 21, 2022

Well here it is: my new recording space.

Over the past month, I’ve been busy moving my family to my hometown of Brownsville, TX. I’ve been working to set up my recording equipment in the backyard room in hopes of creating a cohesive studio.

As if that wasn’t enough, this move has brought me within closer proximity of my old band mates from high school. Over the years, it feels like everyone has matured in their own way, progressed with their writing and recording… needless to say I’m excited to see what comes out of being around each other again. It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a truly collaborative situation with people that I trust and care about.

All and all, I’m anxious to get my affairs in order and to finally get situated in what I feel is a totally new environment than the one I remember. A lot of my writing has been based on the feeling of needing to get out of situations and places in search of something better. And yet, here I am right back where I started. This move has brought a new level of acceptance for my surroundings, and has made me extremely grateful for the people in my life.

I’m excited to share what comes out of this new chapter in my life. I’ve always believed in the notion that environment plays a huge part in people’s creativity, as long as they stay open to it.

Until next time 🫶
