How to write a melody or rather: how to not get stuck writing a melody! In this new video series I will show you simple and hands on tips for creating and developing your melody. Each technique will have it's own episode to avoid too much music theory in one video. But all of them focus on a very practical way of writing a better melody. In this one we talk about the composition technique called: Rhythmic Displacement. Displacing your melody rhythmically is one of the most easy, but powerfull techniques to create subtle variations in your melodic phrases. And as mentioned above, you can apply this melodic technique to any style. And once you've mastered it, you might even try it on your chord progressions.
