What is Trivl?
In the age of lockdown, many of us are turning to quizzes to bide our time. I am working on a platform that brings those people together to share their trivia with the world.
Why the owl?
You may have noticed Evie watching as you read this post...
Owls are known by some for their wisdom, a trait found in people that are good at trivia. Everything else is an extension of the owl all feeding into the design.
What can I do with it?
Create questions (either by yourself or with others)
Vote on other questions to be added
Translate questions into other languages
Use questions in your apps and games with the API
Earn badges (yet to be decided what they will be)
Will it cost?
One of the central themes is bringing people together for a common cause so the platform must remain open to everyone.
That being said, it costs money to host. I am trying to build it as efficiently as possible to minimise costs but am considering to accept donations to help (which will come with some perks of course.
When will it be ready?
The sense of community is strong with this project and am [building it in the open](https://getmakerlog.com/products/trivl). I encourage feedback so if you have any ideas then I would love to hear them.
I have recently finished the design which can be found in [Figma](https://www.figma.com/proto/dl4hmXoQbMORApECrjF0Jj/Web-App?node-id=508%3A2293&viewport=-203%2C311%2C0.11423244327306747&scaling=scale-down-width). Have a click through and let me know what you make of it.
The next step is to build it. I am considering to make a series on here and share the journey with you. If this sounds interesting to you then let me know.
How can I help?
At the moment we want to hear your opinion and ideas but eventually you will be able to play a much bigger role that I am super excited about. More on that later...
What is next?
This is only the beginning, there is a lot more that can be done but want you all to be involved in that process.
