Welcome to my official channel “NHAM ASAIN FOOD”.
My name is Van Dalin, original from Cambodia. I love cooking and also like sharing my recipe to other people who is really keen to learn how to cook the Asian food, this is the reason why I have created this channel for sharing food recipe either EAT SHOW.

Snails have long been part of menus around the globe and it is no different here, in Cambodia.
Known in Khmer as Khyang, the delicacy can be found along the streets as vendors push their carts filled with these edible gastropods, ready to be consumed on-the-go.
According to the locals, snails were once deemed a poor man’s food. However, after the Khmer Rouge, snails slowly became one of the main sources of protein for Cambodians, as resources were really limited then.
Over the years, snails glided their way to becoming a delicacy for all, thanks to a variation of cooking styles that popped up.

SPICY STIR FRIED SNAIL WITH KHMER SPICES
1/ Main Ingredients
2/ Pounding Ingredients
- Kaffir Lime Leaves - Pounded Ingredients (Galangal, Lemongrass, Turmeric and Kaffir Lime Leaves - You can buy it from the local market or you can pound it by yourself.
- White Garlic
- Fish Paste
3/ Sauce Ingredients
- Soybean Cooking Oil
- Pounding Ingredients (Number 2)
- Brown Sugar (Palm Sugar)
- RossDee Powder (Chicken Flavor)
- Sodium Glutamate
- Fresh Milk
- Shallot, Fresh Chillies and Kaffir Lime Leaves
4/ How to Cook
4.1: Cut the edge of snail so they absorb the flavor when we stir fried them.
4.2: Pounding the Kaffir Lime Leaves, Pounded Ingredients, Fish Paste, Garlic, Peanuts.
4.3: Stir fried the pounded ingredients of 4.2. And then add on Palm sugar, Kaffir Lime Leaves, Fresh Chillies, Shallot, RossDee Powder, a bit Sodium Glutamate and Fresh Milk with some water.
4.4: Final add Snail in and keep stir fry for some more minutes till the snail is good cook.
