Hello everyone. We have had this BMAC account for a while but never tried to actually use it. Since we are actually wanting to start bringing in some donations I thought you all deserved to know why.
tldr; we are growing and could really use your financial support.
The good news. In the past year NothingMatters.news has grown a lot. Our social media accounts have steadily increased in followers and engagement. Our archives are growing at a steady (though still not fast enough) rate. In fact, today we are tracking 1,013 American extremists and documented nearly 500 extremist events. This is more than I ever expected when we started this project.
The bad news. I was naive and thought that the rate America is falling into fascism would slow down with Trump out of office. Maybe it did but the day to day events are happening much faster than we can track them. This means we need to add additional automation (and volunteers but that's a different post) which will cost money for development.
All together this means that the small side-project that we all dedicated 1 hour a day and $5 a month has greatly outgrown that commitment. Those of us who remain are investing as much time and resources as we can afford, but I am afraid that this level of commitment isn't sustainable without your help.
