Twice a year, in the spring and fall, GLM holds the Gothic & Lolita Market in Harajuku, Tokyo. The aim is to bring together lolitas once again in Harajuku, reminiscent of how groups would gather in the 90's and hang out in the neighborhood, to simply wear and enjoy the fashion together. The market features around 200 brands, and is mostly focused on indie brands and handmade items. This fall, Odd Monster was lucky enough to be one of the brands represented through ほしのはなぞの!
ほしのはなぞの (Hoshinohanazono) and Sunflower Seed Co. are two sides of the same select shop. ほしのはなぞの represents the Japan-located side, which carries several independent US-based designers. Their aim is to make it easier for Japanese customers to discover overseas brands without having to wait and pay expensive international shipping costs. Sunflower Seed Co. is the US-based side, and aims to bring US customers goods directly from Japan they may not otherwise be able to have access to in the states.
Harajuku Pop posted a write-up on the event, and lolita model RinRin Doll was there to showcase some of the products - including our own old-school inspired tote bag!
