The iGaming Seminar at the Global Gaming Expo

Global Gaming Expo 2015 (G2E) was brought to life Monday at the Sands Expo Convention Center, with hundreds of people in the gaming industry eagerly moving boxes, building booths, and assembling slot machines.

The trade show venue, which features nearly 500 exhibitors, is closed until Tuesday, but on G2E Day 1, more than 30 seminars were offered to attendees on topics ranging from iGaming to regulation, tribal games, security and surveillance.

Synopsis: The panel's topic was a misperception that online gaming fell short of expectations in New Jersey, generating $227 million in revenue and $34 in revenue in less than 24 months, while preoccupying geographic locations, blocking access to minors, overcoming increased regulatory costs, marketing uncertainty and technical flaws.

Money Quote: "We still don't know that 60 percent of adults 21 and older in New Jersey are legitimate for online gaming. And while it's frustrating and challenging, it also offers a tremendous amount of opportunity," said Pasrell, who helped lead the New Jersey Online Gaming Act's campaign.
