Have you heard the rumors that Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza is returning after shamelessly being ripped away from us in November of 2020? It's true!! I recall that being a stormy day of darkness and dread. Do you remember?
The Mexican Pizza consisted of a tortilla shell filled with either beans or ground beef, a pizza sauce and topped with another tortilla shell that was smothered with more sauce, cheese and chopped tomatoes. And now, we're getting it back.
I guess I shouldn't be saying "we," since I've never actually had one myself. I know. Gasp, right? It just sounded weird to me so I never attempted to indulge. This time is different.
The return of the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza is huge news and that makes it good fodder for a tent-pole review. I'll definitely be getting it when it returns on May 19th for release on the Old Nerd Reviews channel. But, I have a secret for you.
If you have the Taco Bell mobile app, you can get the Mexican Pizza two days earlier, on the 17th.
I just really hope this thing is not going to be a huge nothing burger. So often things are hyped up and fall flat. The McRib? Yeah. Anywho....
