Hello Owlets!
It's been a busy week here at Owl's Nest. We don't have any new book releases, but we do have lots of things to catch you up on—including a cover-reveal, a new pre-order, and an update about our shop.
In October 2023, we'll be releasing a beautiful Russian folklore-inspired fantasy called The Carver and the Queen by Emma C. Fox. We were lucky enough to have the incredible artist, Amy Grimes (who has worked with people like Ann Voskamp), create the cover. We're so excited to share the cover with the world:
I love the feelings the cover evokes—just like stepping into a fairytale. It looks both fanciful and classic. Please go take a look at Amy's beautiful work on her website—you can find many of her lovely, whimsical prints there. We are so humbled that she would offer us her remarkable talents.
We also opened up preorders for our summer release, Not Exactly Love by Devin Brown. Preorders are a great way to support a small, independent publisher. They increase visibility, offer guaranteed sales, help authors (especially debut authors) get their name established, and cheer us on. Essentially, preordering a book is like becoming part of our word-of-mouth marketing team!
Not Exactly Love is a novel in diary format that tells the story of Lena, who has a crush on a boy who is her friend, but not her boyfriend. We love this charming story of an adolescent girl who's figuring out first-love—and how to navigate her feelings when her crush or may not like her back. It's so relatable. You can preorder it on our website here. And don't forget, you can also still preorder Hertz Gets Fused—an entirely different, but equally charming coming of age story about a tech-obsessed kid who learns the value of a life without screens.
We finally stocked our store with copies of The Queen of Ebenezer. Because this was a secret release, we wanted to have books available as soon as possible—but this meant we didn't have any books to sell right away on our website. For those of you who would prefer not to order off Amazon, or who haven't purchased a copy yet, go take a look on our website here! Plus, if you order from our store you can request a signed copy with personalization. Who doesn't love a signed copy!
Believe me when I tell you—you do not want to miss out on this lovely, whimsical, bittersweet story.
