Burnt Land, Beautiful Sky

A photo I took a couple of months ago during Lockdown, whilst there was no curfew. It makes me a little sad that I can't go out and take more photos with the curfew in place, and these cold conditions and no visible moon make for ideal conditions, but I'll get my chance again. What I like about this shot, is that the ground had been burnt by fire and the sky above made for such an incredible contrast. The burnt grass brings new life to the land, and I find that metaphorically beautiful. Something to think about... Today is World Photography Day. I think thats pretty cool. So, herewith, my little offering on this day... South Africa is truly an incredible place, and I love the smell of a veld fire on the highveld around this time of the year. Something which always makes me think of home. I am Proudly South African!
