Making room for Cypher

Making room for Cypher

Sep 06, 2020

School is back so I have some more free time, now, and thus development is slowly picking up. Right now, my next target is support for Cypher System-specific features: cypher types (manifest/subtle/fantastic), spells, power shifts, etc.

But the very first step will be an update to system settings. Currently they're a bit of a mess, with "system version" being your choice of Numenera v1 or v2... and then "world setting", allowing you to choose Numenera or The Strange... lolwut

I don't want to restrict game masters: what if you would like to introduce Recursions into your Numenera game? Or perhaps you wish to introduce Spells from generic Cypher? Why not? Who am I to stop the freight train of your unbounded imagination???

As such, I'll introduce very soon updated setting controls. Simply select the features you wish to use in your game... and you're done! This will fix something that has been a minor mess for some time now and will allow an easier introduction of features from Cypher, such as Spells and Power Shifts. It might require you change a setting or two at first, but this will be a one-off job: sorry for the inconvenience, but such is the price of Progress (TM).

On an unrelated note, I'm slowly (VERY slowly, it seems) making progress on Descriptor items, which, in turn, will pave the way for Focus and Type items some day. If I manage to pull this off, this will be the biggest feature I've added to this whole system. I can't provide an ETA but will keep everybody updated.

EDIT: Oh, and support for a new language is coming up! I'm not telling which one, but as a clue, I can tell it's mainly spoken in Germany.
