It's a beautiful morning here in Colorado. At 71 degrees first thing this morning, I've already gone to the gym, set up my workload, and am eager to finish off the week strong. I guess you can say that I am a bit "chipper" today.
Actually, quite a bit of goodness happened this week, so, I suppose that helped put me in such a good mood today. It's just one of those weeks where it feels like everything is starting to slam into place.
The Sun is ENERGIZING!
Normally, I love the winter months. Between the snow and the holidays, I'm just excited for the last quarter of the year. However, there's no denying that I feel all kinds of energized when out and about the first thing on a sunny morning.
Seriously, I'm in such a good mood that I'm awaiting a flock of birds to land on my shoulder so we can sing a duet.
Unfortunately, this also means that I'm stuck in my office in a good mood when I should be on a golf course. Eh, at least I'm still putting out some awesomeness for clients. After all, I gotta keep the mortgage paid.
Reducing Stress By Scheduling Ahead
Part of what is helping me reach a heightened level of energetic excitement is the reduction of stress I feel thanks to getting two of the blogs ahead of schedule. Instead of stressing about getting an article done for any particular day, I can somewhat relax as they are scheduled a week in advance.
All I need to do now is get ColoradoPlays.com and two YouTube channels ahead of schedule.
Did you know that it has been a year since the blogs were on a consistent schedule? More than in a couple of cases. Why is this important? Because the sites generate quite a bit of income. And the more money I can make, the more I can put into improvements.
My point is that if you're building a blog to generate a meaningful income, it pays to keep them regular. Not only does it help you build a community from return visitors, but Google likes consistency. In fact, I'm doing a case study on that very aspect right now.
Using Reedsy to Write Kingmaker
As I move Kingmaker, my next book, from LibreOffice to Reedsy, I am polishing up each chapter. I'm sure I'll do a few more edits once the book is completely transferred over. But for now, there are a few parts I am working on rewriting.
I like Reedsy's book editing app. Not only is it free, but it has a lot of productivity tools that I simply love. For one thing, it tracks progress and helps you set writing goals. Not to mention that it has built-in spellcheck and a suggestion function for word choices.
Also, Reedsy's app works perfectly with the Grammarly Chrome extension. So, it makes for an incredible platform without costing a single dime.
I'm still on the fence about using Reedsy's other publishing services. I wanted to see how far I could take Kingmaker for free. The second book, on the other hand, I plan on spending quite a bit on.
Sponsorship Coming Along Slowly
I have a new sponsor for WriterSanctuary. However, their new app is a bit buggy at the moment. They'll pay me quite a bit for a blog post and video, but I need to get into the system to show you all how it works. And right now, we're playing the waiting game.
I'm not upset, really. New apps are going to have issues, and as I have dabbled in programming and development in the past, I know exactly what their teams are going through.
In any case, for those of you who have blogs, this might be a game-changer for how you monetize your content. I don't want to go into too many details just yet, but it should increase how much money you make per visitor.

Hitting One Million Words Per Year - On Average
Lastly, I'm pretty excited about hitting one million words on average for the year. One of my goals was to simply write more this year than in 2021. But so far, I've been quite a bit more productive.
My spreadsheet calculates how many words I'll write by December 31st. It does this by taking my progress thus far, averaging it out across five days per week, and then adjusts to show an estimate for the remaining days.
The more we travel through 2022, the more accurate the estimation.
Yep...I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to spreadsheets. However, it has helped me become the successful freelancer I am today. I've been using variations of this spreadsheet since 2012.
Anyway, it's kind of exciting to see just how much I've written thus far and where I am going.
How Did Your Week Go?
After all is said and done, this has been one of my better weeks in 2022. Especially with how giddy I am today. I feel like I can rip the ears off of a gundark.
